6/13/2008 – On Friday 6/13/2008, Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company Station 83, Sussex County EMS, Delaware State Police and Millsboro Police were dispatched to a MVA at Sheep Pen Road and DuPont Highway (US113) north of Millsboro. Responding units were advised in route that an EMT was on scene reporting a pediatric trauma and requesting aviation response. First arriving units were confronted with a two vehicle MVA involving a Lincoln sedan and Dodge minivan with a total of five patients. SCEMS Control alerted for a Level I MCI which brought additional Sussex County Paramedics and ambulances from the Frankford and Gumboro Volunteer Fire Companies to the scene. The pediatric trauma patient was transported by LifeMed helicopter to Christiana Medical Center while the remaining patients were transported by ambulance to area hospitals. The highway remained closed for several hours while the Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene of the MVA.
