3/3/2013 – At 1341 hours, Kent County Central Alarm alerted for the working structure fire, with entrapment, at 200 Virginia Ave, Galena. Callers were advising of explosions occurring in the house. First units on the scene found heavy fire from a second story apartment, and advised that all occupants were accounted for.
Command 3 arrived on location with Captain Bert Piasecki and assumed ”Virginia Ave. Command.”
Command placed the incident under control in about an hour. Occupants of the property were being assisted by the Red Cross.
Station 3 Galena was assisted on the scene by the following companies; Station 2 Millington, Station 4 Kennedyville, Cecil County Station 1 Cecilton, New Castle County Statons 1 & 27 Middletown, and Queen Annes County Station 6 Sudlersville. EMS units from Station 3 Galena, Cecil County Station 1 Cecilton, and Kent County Paramedics. Other agencies on the scene include Kent County Sheriff’s Office, Chestertown Police Dept., and DP&L.
