2/15/2011 – As the evening hours approached on February 5th, Station 81 Laurel was alerted for a fire nature unknown on Portsville Road. EMS Captain Brett Morris responded and arrived on scene to find a single wide trailer fully involved. The trailer being located well off the roadway, and into the woods made access impossible for large fire apparatus. Brush trucks were used to gain access, and begin fire suppression. An additional brush truck was alerted to the scene from Station 14 Sharptown to assist. Firefighters extinguished the remains of the trailer, which was a total loss when first units arrived on scene. The cause is undetermined at this time.
