5/31/2009 – At approximately 12:30 PM Queen Anne’s County dispatched Station 1 (Kent Island) Station 2 (Grasonville) and Station 3 (Queenstown) for a working dwelling fire on Cox Neck Road. While approaching the scene, Chief 1 (P. Schlotterbeck – Officer 101) requested the Tanker Task Force. Upon arrival Officer 101 reported a large 2 story dwelling with heavy fire showing, established command and called for a 2nd alarm. Crews made a quick knock of the fire and did an interior search due to the report of possible occupants trapped in the residents. After the search was complete no one was found and overhaul began. A draft site was set up in a neighbor’s swimming pool but was not needed. At 2:30 PM command placed the situation under control holding all units to continue with extensive overhaul. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshall’s Office.
