1/17/2009 – Just after 8am Sussex EOC alerted Station 81 to a Furnace Malfunction on 6th Street in Laurel. Command arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing and upgraded to structure fire. Station 14 (Sharptown) and Station 74 (Delmar) were quickly alerted, with Station 71 (Blades) being brought in shortly thereafter. Temperatures on scene were in the teens. FITHP members Tim Walker and Billy Adkins were on location with their respective departments.
