1/20/2013 – At 17:29hrs on 1/20/2013 Wicomico Central alerted Station 3 (Fruitland), 15(Allen) and 1 (Salisbury) for a reported structure fire at 210 School St. in Fruitland. First responding unit ,medic B 3 reported heavy smoke in the area upon leaving the firehouse, and heavy fire on arrival. Captain Kennedy arrived in Car 3 establishing School St. command with heavy fire from Side A and C. First arriving engine 302 established water supply from the hydrant at Moore Ave. The crew from Engine 302 made an aggressive attack thru the back door and made quick work of knocking the fire. Crews from Allen and Salisbury provided assistance with a secondary line, ventilation and overhaul. The fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
