11/16/2011 – Around 12:45PM Wicomico Central alerted Station 74 Delmar of a MVC with Rescue on Jersey Rd in the area of Adkins Rd. Central advised Command 74 and Paramedic 74 while they were en-route that the accident would be a tractor-trailer vs. a jeep. Paramedic 74 arrived on scene and confirmed that it was a tractor-trailer and jeep in a t-bone accident. Station 16 Salisbury was alerted for Rescue 16, and Rescue Pumper 501 advised command that they were in the area returning from another call. Command advised them to respond to the scene. Firefighters and EMS crews worked to remove the patient from the jeep, while a handline was put into service as a precaution. The patient was removed from the vehicle and transported to PRMC. Jersey Rd. was closed for approximately an hour and a half while the vehicles were removed and county roads spread sand on the road.
