6/13/2010 – On 6-13-2010 the Wicomico EOC alerted Sta.2 Salisbury for an accident with injuries on Hammond St. One minute later they upgraded the alarm to a water rescue with a car into the pond and overturned. Units arrived to find a Kia that had failed to make the turn and had gone into the Middleneck Pond and overturning. Passer-bys saw the accident happen and jumped into the water to help the injured. The passenger was able to free himself from the car and ran from to scene and was not located. The driver was helped out of the car and pulled to safety. Divers from the Salisbury Dive Team searched the pond for anyone else who may have been in the car. Crews were on scene for nearly 2 hours.
