5/22/2010 – At 12:54am Sussex EOC alerted Stations 81 (Laurel), 74 (Delmar) and Wicomico Station 14 to a reported stucture fire on Shell Bridge Rd. near Portsville. The house was located on property owned by the Delaware Department of Fishing and Wildlife with a public fishing recreational area. Command arrived on scene with fire showing through the roof and requested an additional tanker from Station 71 (Blades). The fire was contained in about 30 minutes, with crews remaining on scene for 2 hours. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
