5/9/2010 – At approximately 0943 Sussex (EOC) Dispatched Laurel Fire Department, SCEMS, and Trooper 2 to a MVC with entrapment on Sussex Hwy in the area of Laurel road. Assistant Chief Jeff Hill arrived on scene to find a two vehicle MVC with entrapment. Medic 102 arrived on scene and started patient care. A-81 arrived on scene and split their crew in order to take care of all patients until further BLS units could arrive. Engine 81-4 and Rescue 81 with the help of Assistant Chief Walker and Past Chief/Truck Captain Sheridan assisted with the extrication of the driver in the red car. B-81 arrived on scene and took over patient care from half of A-81’s crew. Engine 2 arrived on scene and assisted B-81 with patient care. B-81 transported one patient BLS to NMH. The extrication of the driver in the red car took approx 30 minutes. The driver was then flown to PRMC. Assistant Chief Hill placed the incident under control at 1025.
