12/8/2009 – Around 1PM this afternoon, Wicomico Central alerted Station 2 Salisbury of a reported strong odor of gas at Pohanka on Rt13 between Gordy Rd and Zion Rd. Emergency Crews and Chesapeake Utilities responded and found that construction workers had struck a gas line. Rt13 between Gordy Rd. and the ByPass was shut down durning the small amount of time it took Chesapeake to shut off the gas line.
