11/2/2009 – At 7:01pm Sussex EOC alerted Station 74 (Delmar), Station 81 (Laurel) and Wicomico Station 2 (Salisbury) to a reported structure fire. The building, La Cabana, located on Bi-State Blvd. in Delmar had flames erupting from the rear roofline upon arrival. Command requested additional tankers from Station 5 (Hebron) and Station 71 (Blades). Station 14 (Sharptown) was requested to cover-up at Station 74, later was brought to the scene. The fire was contained in about an hour, with crews remaining on scene over 2 hours for cleanup. The Delaware State Fire Marshal was on scene investigating the cause, a damage estimate is not currently available.
