8/9/2009 – At 2:45pm Wicomico County Central alerted Salisbury Stations 2 & 16, and Delmar Station 74 to a reported building fire at Boscov’s Department Store. Boscov’s is located at the Centre at Salisbury on N. Salisbury Blvd. The reporting party advised light smoke throughout the store, with the smell of electrical burning and power problems at the store. Upon arrival Engine 16 began interior investigation, while crews from Tower 74 and Tower 16 searched the roof. Due to the size of the structure and resources being used for smoke investigations, a 2nd alarm was sounded bringing Station 1 (Salisbury) and Station 5 (Hebron) to the scene. It is believed a malfuncting HVAC system is to blame. Crews cleared at 5pm.
