6/23/2009 – The Ocean City ‘FOOLS’ Chapter held its annual fundraiser at Seacrets Night Club on June 17th 2009, during the MD State Fireman’s Convention. Several companies sponsored the event to help raise funds for families of fallen firefighters both locally and nationwide. Montgomery County Firefighters and The Fire Brigade of Greater Baltimore led the event through several songs of pipes and drums. One tradition of the Fools group is to gather at the end of the pier and toast the memory of firefighters who have passed. Normally the last toast would go to the ground where our fallen brothers and sisters lay, but because Ocean City sits on the water this chapter sets the last toast to sea.
