6/13/2009 – At 10:25 AM Talbot Center dispatched Station 50 (Cordova) and Paramedic 90 for a 10-50 PI on Three Bridge Branch Road in the area of Rabbit Hill Road. A short time later, all units were advised the actual location would be on Rt. 309 in the area of Three Bridge Branch Road. Engine 51 arrived on location to find one vehicle with severe damage caused by a deer. Command was established by Officer 503 (L. Larmore) and after patient evaluation, aviation was requested. Officer 502 (B.Messix) established the LZ in the parking lot of Station 50 and both patients were transported there by Paramedic 90 and Paramedic 96. One patient was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Trooper 6 and the second patient was transported to Johns Hopkins by Trooper 4. All other patients refused treatment. The situation was placed under control at 11:45 AM.
The deer was first struck by a small passenger car and then thrown into the windshield of the pickup where the deer was mutilated.
