6/1/2009 – Around 9:50pm Wicomico Central alerted Station 16 to a MVC w/ Injuries, single vehicle into tree. About 2 minutes later, the alarm was upgraded to MVC with Rescue, 2 persons trapped, vehicle on fire. The upgrade brought in Stations 2 and 5 to the West Rd. location near Waconia Dr. Deputy Chief 2 arrived on scene and assumed command. The small fire was quickly extinguished and crews worked quickly to remove 2 patients from the Cadillac Escalade. Extent of injuries are not currently known, however, the driver did suffer head trauma, and is assumed to have been transported Priority 1. Wicomico County Sheriff’s deputies were on scene for 2+ hours investigating.
