5/29/2009 – Around 7:10pm, Stations 1 & 16 were alerted to a MVC with Rollover, multiple patients at the intersection of Beaglin Park Dr. & Mt. Hermon Rd in Salisbury.

Salisbury Fire Department Station 16 and 1 were alerted for a reported MVC with Rescue at the intersection of Beaglin Park Drive and Mt. Hermon Road. 1619 arrived on scene first and established Beaglin Park Command, confirming entrapment. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief 1, (Gladwell), assumed Command. Multiple medic units were requested for numerous passengers of both an upside down SUV and upright mini-van. The SUV was on its top with moderate intrusion to the driver door. Engine 1 arrived on the scene and pulled 1.75in. line for crew protection. Rescue 16 was advised to begin extrication. Various tools were utilized to remove the passenger and driver doors with an alert patient inverted inside the patient compartment. The vehicle was stabilized with chocks and high lift jacks as advised by command. Command also directed the use of a tarp due to imminent weather. The tarp was utilized to cover workers and the patient during monsoon-like inclement weather with dangerous lightning, high winds and horizontal, heavy rain. Extrication took approximately twenty minutes to complete. Numerous patients were transported to PRMC. The incident was being investigated by the Wicomico County Sheriffs Office. All Salisbury Fire Department units cleared the scene without incident
