4/3/2009 – At 19:22 hours Sussex EOC alerted Station 74 (Delmar), Station 81 (Laurel) & Station 14 (Sharptown) to a reported structure fire on Walters Rd in Delmar. Command 74 (S. Johnson) arrived to find a farmhouse fully involved. Per DFD safety policy on abandoned structures, firefighters were instructed to protect exposures only. Delmar crews were held at the scene while Stations 14 & 81 were released. The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
