1/4/2009 – Around 17:50, Kent Center alerted Station 50 (Harrington) for a house fire in the 100 block of Grant Street in Harrington and advised units to switch to K-TAC4. Harrington Police units (907-5, Kenny Brode (aka 50-22) and 907-4, Adam Gillespie (aka 55-17)) were the first on scene and 907-5 reported heavy fire showing. Command 50 with 50-19 (Jason Brode) arrived shortly after and requested assistance at the scene from Station 48 (Felton) and a cover assignment for Station 50. Engine 50-1 arrived and crews placed two lines in service, one through the front door and the other to the C/D corner. They also hand stretched a 5″ supply line to Engine/Tanker 50-2, which picked up the hydrant at Grant and Dorman Streets. Command placed the incident under control about 18:30 with units working, and units cleared by 20:10. The scene was turned over to the State Fire Marshal for investigation.
