10/25/2008 – The Delmar Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle fire on Old Stage Rd east of town. 74 Command arrived on location to find a logging skidder on fire. Engine 74-3 arrived, dropped a supply line and then made its way 200 ft into the wooded area.
Crews used a 1 ¾ foam line to extinguish the fire. It took nearly 10 minutes to put the fire out due to the hydraulic lines that were on fire. Tanker 74 was requested to respond to the scene for additional water supply.
Command placed the call under control and released all units except Engine 74-3 to await the arrival of the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.
