8/20/2008 – Just after 8:30am Sta.74 Delmar, Sta.2 Salisbury and Sta.5 Hebron was alerted for a working structure fire with a report of 2 people trapped inside at 101 Spruce St in Delmar. Deputy Chief D. Scott arrived to find a 1 ½ story dwelling with smoke and fire visible from the exterior. All occupants were accounted for that was living in the home. First arriving Delmar unit was Engine 74-3, they were ordered to pull past the home and hit the hydrant and advance a 1 ¾ hose line thru the front door. Truck-74 along with Truck-2 was ordered to ladder the roof and ventilate. The crew from Hebron’s Engine 503 assisted the interior crews with containing the fire. Crews were on scene for nearly 3 hours. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
