ALLEN -- Cynthia 'Cindy' Costa, 46, of Allen passed away peacefully Tuesday Oct. 7, 2008, with her husband, son, mother and devoted friend Shelley Lynch by her side.

Born in Salisbury on Feb. 27, 1962, she was the daughter of Carol Ann Price and the late Thomas Beverly Price.

Cindy graduated from Washington High School in 1980. After high school, she continued her education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, graduating in 1984. Most recently, she was attending Wor-Wic Community College, where she was inducted into the Alpha Nu Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa in April 2007.

She was employed with Credit Plus of Salisbury for 16 years, recently retiring in August. Mrs. Costa was a member of the Allen Volunteer Fire Company, where she served as the emergency medical services captain and past secretary. Cindy was also a member of the United Methodist Women, Community Of Joy Church and American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She will always be remembered for her kind and compassionate heart and willingness to help others.

Cherishing her memory are her husband, Glenn Costa; one son Thomas 'T.J. Messick; her mother, Carol Price of Salisbury; a sister, Beverly Smith of Purcellville, Va.; one brother Thomas Beverly Price Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Falling Waters W.Va.; a stepmother, Linda Price of Pittsville; one stepsister Tara Wolske and her husband, Matt, of Pittsville; a stepbrother Ronald Lewis of Willards; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her father, Thomas Beverly Price Sr.; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Elizabeth Price; and maternal grandparents, Walter and Josephine James.
