Kenneth H. Walton III
East New Market Fire Department

Kenneth Harold Walton III, 21, of East New Market, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. Born in Baltimore on July 12, 1991, he was the son of Kenneth H. Walton Jr. and Christine Knode Walton of East New Market.

Kenny was a 2009 graduate of North Dorchester High School. At the time of his death, he was employed by Contracting Specialty Company Inc. in Baltimore.


He joined the Secretary Volunteer Fire Company as a cadet at the age of 14. He had a great interest in firefighting and attended many classes with the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. He was currently a member of East New Market Fire Department, where he had previously received Rookie of the Year and also received Firefighter of the Year in 2011 He recently joined Rescue Fire Company in Cambridge.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Kevin Knode of Cambridge and Jeremy Knode of Cambridge; his paternal grandmother, Janice Hayman and her husband Lawrence of Orange County, Fla.; his paternal grandfather, Kenneth H. Walton Sr. and his wife Marilyn of Madison, Ala.; his maternal grandparents, Paul and JoAnn Knode of Brookview; a special niece Piper; aunts, uncles and cousins.


A fireman's funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at the East New Market Fire House, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mr. David Tolley will officiate. Interment will follow in East New Market Cemetery.
